Lamentations
From The Banner: “Before we drift into vengeance or let fear get a grip on us, we ought to mourn. Sorrow for the dead, for the thousands of new orphans, for the terror those buried alive or hijacked must have felt–such lament is fitting. Lament is a necessary response to the abyss and wreckage that human sin has made of God’s good earth and his beloved humans.”

No one is near to comfort me, no one to restore my spirit. My children are destitute because the enemy has prevailed.” (Lamentations 1:16)

“Even complaints to God are fitting.”
