After a very late night last night, it had been my intention to go to bed fairly early this evening. My brain, apparently, has other plans.
Spent the evening being tired and fretful and writing agent query letters — well, one letter to one agent, really. But it’s a start.
I’ve sent out copies of the latest draft to a few people — not agents, just my “beta testers” — but haven’t heard much back from them. I’m still sending a few more out though, so don’t fret if you haven’t gotten one yet and think you should.
(Of course, you may not get one, so — since you apparently think you should — send me an e-mail as to why. )
So far, I believe Keeley is the only one who has read it. She’s about halfway through now, right in the middle of the Elephant House segment. She assured me this evening that it’s gotten better as she’s gone along.
Seeing the look on my face, she then assured me that it was already good to begin with.
She was also surprised at how dark and scary certain parts of it are.
And she’s right, it is somewhat scary.
For some reason, those are my favorite bits.
Podcasts coming this weekend, Sunday evening. Probably the first five chapters. Perhaps more. Perhaps not.
Perhaps sleep…
