Well, it’s more than fairly late at this point and I really ought to be getting in bed and trying to sleep for a few hours, but…

I haven’t written for the past couple of days, which is very odd for me. Not that I’ve been idle. I’ve spent the time working on a variety of administrative tasks, including getting the book into a semi-friendly PDF format for my beta readers, sending it off to the first wave of selfsame readers, talking through the basics of the publishing world with my nepotismistic mentor, and finalizing the format and structure of the podcast.

Also, I recorded the first chapter of the novel tonight and was entirely disheartened to find that I sound like David Sedaris on estrogen. I may re-record things or just chalk it up to my sissy-la-la nature and keep moving. By the end of the weekend I’ll probably have three or four chapters out there for download at iTunes and through this site. And then there’ll be at least a new chapter or two each week. Because I know you’re all clamoring for it.

In a week or so, I’ll be hitting up a targeted list of agents, should all go well.

Once I get through all the admin stuff on checklist this week, it’s on to the next project. To start with, I’ll be finishing a play I’ve been working on for the past few years (in all my free time). And then it’s on to the second novel. This next one’s about an undertaker and it is my first look into a larger, semi-Lovecraftian mythos that I’ve been exploring and developing for the past fifteen years. Also, it has a vampire in it. So that’s something…

And, because you’ve been so patient with my babbling, here are some really cool pictures and videos of bees, included here because they belong to that nice Mr. Neil Gaiman. And they’re quite cool. As is the beechick commentary.

Time for bed…
