Long story short, the latest is that one agent had already kicked back a personal response with a kindly, brief gloss of their of lack interest in representing the project.
No matter. They weren’t my first choice. She has yet to weigh in. I’d like it if she asked for a sample chapter or two. I think the Moontown and Annie’s Garden chapters in Book One work pretty well.
By the way, podcasts are available for download at iTunes. There’s fourteen chapters out there now, give or take. If you do happen to listen, I’d love to hear your feedback or even see more reviews get posted at iTunes.
Eventually, as much as the first book has consumed my thoughts for the past months and years, I have to move on. Otherwise, I’ll just go mad with the fretfulness of it all.
And where does one move on to?
Well, how nice of you to ask. The second draft of the new book (aka The Undertaker Story) is underway. I have every intention of writing most of the weekend in an effort to get as much of this next draft as complete as complete can be.
I am very tired these days, sleeping in a week what a typical person sleeps in a night. I assume, with autumn finally here, that my body’s natural rhythms will adjust and resolve to a more balanced place.
I mended my boots tonight. Winter is coming.
Thinking tonight that once the second draft of the Undertaker story (aka The Short Thing About Death by Robert Gaines) is finished, I’ll probably spend a few months working on a few stories that I’ve been meaning to write for the kids.
Christmas is coming, after all.
As is sleep, apparently. I’m tired.
So to bed.
