I feel a little guilty for having abandoned things here for almost a month now. A lot has been going on, not all of it good (nor all bad, for the optimists out there) but it has at least been going on which is more than I can say for some things in this world.

No, I have no idea what I’m talking about either.

Hey, here’s what I’ve had on the desktop of my computer for a while. Let’s play “Spot the Hard Drive Icon” shall we? Winner gets an autographed copy of my latest play (with that and fifty cents, there’s a cup of cheap coffee in your future…)

I took that picture a long, long time ago — at Lisa and Terry’s wedding, actually. If they’re out there somewhere (as I’m sure they are), here’s hoping that all is well.

So . . . I could go on for quite a while here about all sort of things but the important things are…

…I’m writing, yes, and the novel is mving closer every day towards completion. The teakids are in the home stretch.

…There’s big news on the horizon. I’d talk about it here but there are a few people left to call, oddly enough. It’s not like I’m shy or anything.

…weather reports, power outages galore . . . it’s been quite a summer.

…I’ve got a thousand words or so on where the kids are at and what they are doing, but by the time I have time to write it all they will be home again and I will be too happy to waste my time.

…lots of books and movies and music to babble on about.

…recipes, ghost stories, and a hundred other things to talk about but the most important thing is probably that there is a new site coming and it does not involve storks at all.

(No. That’s not meant to make sense. You’ll just have to wait and see. Sometime in September the new one will be up. Including the weekly podcasts, whore that I am.)

There’s a skunk out there somwhere tonight. I can smell him. (Literally, not figuratively.)

And now, I leave you with what might be the best line I wrote tonight: She did not cry, but there was enough sadness and fear that it took the two of them to bear it all.

And so, goodnight.
