There’s three different blog posts in various stages of not-quite-done, but I figured I might as well start number four.

So . . . a few new query letters went out to more agents last week. I’ll send a few out every few weeks between now and early December, assuming that the holiday distraction won’t do me any favors.

To tide myself over, I’m podcasting the novel chapter by chapter. You can download it either from iTunes for via this RSS/XML feed.

One of my posts is on RSS feeds and some excellent blogs I’m reading. I’ll get that one done at some point, just to give you all a look at what I’m reading online these days.

Another post is on insomnia. I’ve not been sleeping much. Cut out caffeine for a few weeks, which seemed to help. But tonight I’m awake, my mind fretful. I spent the time ironing a few things and watching “Rivers and Tides” — which, it turns out, was exactly what I needed.

Andy Goldsworthy’s approach to art and time, the patience and purposefulness of it, the imbedded hope of it, is something that’s hard to hold onto when you’re just waiting for word to come.

You make something. You wait for nature to respond, for the tide to come in and bring it to life.

And you hope.
