Mama Don’t Take My Monochrome Away
This afternoon, Ryan stopped by my desk and said he was just checking to confirm that I really wasn’t, as he had been told, wearing black today. He expressed some surprise.
Just prior to that, Tracy stopped me as I was on the way in from lunch to ask me if my washing machine was broken. She too expressed her surprise that I wasn’t wearing black. As a coincidence, I was returning from doing hot lunch at school where one of my son’s classmates had asked me if I was “a police office or a park ranger or something?”
It was also Tracy who posted an announcement to our intranet at work earlier today which read: “T.M. is not wearing black today… is he okay?”
For what it’s worth, I am wearing a short-sleeve khaki shirt, olive pants. I suppose, with the right sort of hat, I might look a bit like a park ranger.
It’s definitely time to do laundry…
