The Sandman isn’t your typical comic book. It’s dark, geared towards adults and praised by the likes of Norman Mailer and Stephen King. Neil Gaiman, the comic book’s creator, joins Neal Conan for a discussion on gods, myths and dreams.
I’ll be working this afternoon, sadly, and will miss the show. Fortunately, NPR puts audio out there once the show has run.
If you have the time, you should listen in. Gaimain is talented, polite, intelligent, English, and very clever with words and ideas.
He’s also the “most famous writer you’ve never heard of” — although I expect that’ll change sometime during the next few months. The amount of media coverage his work has been getting the past few weeks is amazing.
